  • Bessma Aljarbou
    Head of Supplier Clean Energy Program, Apple Inc.
    Bessma Aljarbou leads Apple’s Clean Energy Program, where she is responsible for transitioning Apple’s global supply chain to renewable energy. Bessma’s prior experience includes over 10 years in clean technology and renewable energy, and she is an alumna of MIT Sloan, the Harvard Kennedy School and the University of Virginia.
  • Philipp Noack
    President/CEO, Audi Japan KK
    In addition to all Japan activities for the Audi brand, Philipp Noack is also responsible for achieving Audi's commitment to decarbonization goals. In September 2020, he led the launch of the first electric vehicle – e-tron Sportback – under the Audi brand in Japan.
    He holds almost 2 decades of experience in a wide range of positions at Audi and other premium and luxury automotive brands in wholesale, retail, and OEM. Before assuming his current position, he spent more than four years leading the European sales operations at Bentley Motors Ltd and played a crucial role in reinforcing the company's success in the European and Russian markets through strengthening financial health of the dealer networks, increasing brand value, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
    He holds degrees in Business Administration and International Business from Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts (Germany) and Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (the Netherlands).
  • Sosuke Yoshikawa
    Senior Manager, CSV Strategy Department, Kirin Holdings Co., Ltd.
    Sosuke Yoshikawa leads Kirin Group's activities to combat climate change by building long-term strategy to achieve Net-Zero emission from its business, setting medium-term targets such as SBT and RE100, and planning initiatives to promote carbon reduction.
    He started his career as an Engineer at Kirin Brewery where he was involved in facility improvement, plant construction, and business strategy planning for the domestic beer business, as well as energy cost reduction in the Brazilian business.
    In 2017 the Kirin Group became the first domestic food and beverage company to set the SBT, for which he formulated the technical solutions, and he announced the medium-term strategy in various speeches. In 2020, the Group led the industry by upgrading its SBT from a 2°C trajectory to 1.5°C and joining RE100. He has also promoted the introduction of renewable energy at group companies in Japan and overseas.
    He graduated from the Graduate School of Engineering, Nagoya University.
  • Toshiyuki Koinuma
    Office for Electricity Supply Policy, Electricity Infrastructure Division, Agency for Natural Resources and Energy
    Toshiyuki Koinuma joined the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) in April 2020. Since then he has been mainly in charge of the planning and operation of non-fossil fuel value trading market.
  • Takuya Horiuchi
    General Manager, Electric Power Business Department II, ORIX Corporation
    Since joining ORIX Corporation in 1997, Takuya Horiuchi has had a diverse industry experience including in sales, real estate finance, energy as well as developing join ventures. He currently manages the company’s businesses in solar power generation (mainly roof-top), storage batteries and ESCO services for factories.
  • Seiya Miyake
    Senior Managing Director, Minna-denryoku Inc.
    Seiya Miyake previously worked at Kansai Electric Power Company as a nuclear power plant engineer for 13 years until 2007 and then at Aurther D. Little and KPMG as a management consultant in the energy sector. At Minna-denryoku, he is currently in charge of business development and operations as COO. He also leads the blockchain P2P platform development and the corporate PPA project. He  received a master's degree from Nagoya University in electrical engineering and an MBA from Kobe University.
  • Takahiro Suzuki
    General Manager, Corporate Citizenship Department, Aeon Co., Ltd.
    Takahiro Suzuki joined JUSCO Co., Ltd. (Currently Aeon Co., Ltd.) in 2000 and accumulated substantial experience through working at the Corporate Secretarial, Business Alliance, and Start-up New Business within the Aeon Group HQ before having been assigned to work at the Ministry of the Environment (MOE).
    Since coming back from MOE, he is responsible for formulating and pursuing the mid-and-long term Environmental Strategies of the Aeon Group including “Aeon Decarbonization Vision 2050.”
  • Tetsu Inoue
    Senior Manager, EHS Group, Corporate Workplace Solutions, Sony Corp.
    Tetsu Inoue joined Sony Corporation in 2000. After engaging in intellectual property-related work as well as environmental management work, he was engaged in renewable energy procurement assignments in 2007. He studied abroad in 2008, and was transferred to Sweden in 2014 for the assignments of general affairs in the group company. He took current position in 2017 and has been in charge of energy procurement including renewable energy and management of activities for the reduction of environmental impacts at offices and factories within Sony Group. He has also engaged in becoming a member of RE100, formulating milestones for achieving RE100, and implementing measures to introduce RE in his current role.
    He obtained a Masters Degree from the Graduate School of Science and Technology of Keio University and an MBA from HEC Paris.
  • Isshu Kikuma
    Japan Renewable Energy Analyst, BloombergNEF 
    Isshu Kikuma is Japan Energy Analyst for BloombergNEF (BNEF). He supports the BNEF service for Japan’s renewable energy and grid integration. He also has experience in the solar and sustainability fields before joining BNEF. 
    He holds a Masters in Environmental Management from Duke University and Bachelors in Economics and Geography from the State University of New York (SUNY) Geneseo, the U.S.
  • Teruyuki Ohno
    Executive Director, Renewable Energy Institute
    Teruyuki Ohno joined Renewable Energy Institute in 2013. He has actively participated in the policy formation of Japan’s climate change measures as a member of the subcommittee of carbon pricing and others led by the Ministry of the Environment Japan. Before joining the Institute, he was Director General of the Bureau of Environment, Tokyo Metropolitan Government for three years, covering a broad range of environmental issues including energy, climate change, waste management, pollution control, natural environment, and sustainable development. His notable achievements include the “No Dirty Diesel Vehicle Strategy in Tokyo” which reduced the air pollution and PM emissions, and implementation of Japan’s first Cap-and-Trade Program in Tokyo in 2008, involving the industries and successfully building a grand consensus. His active leadership in promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency led to the formation of the foundation of Tokyo’s energy policy. He also serves as part-time lecturer at the University of Tokyo, Adviser for ICLEI Japan and Board Member of WWF Japan.
    He received the Haagen-Smit Clean Air Award from the California Air Resources Board in 2014. His publications include "Energy Strategies of Municipality Governments" (Iwanami, 2013, Japanese) among others.
  • Masaya Ishida​
    Senior Manager, Business Alliance, Renewable Energy Institute
    Masaya Ishida joined Renewable Energy Institute in 2017 to lead research activities on renewable energy business. Prior to joining the Institute, he was Executive Producer at ITmedia Inc., a Softbank Group company, where he launched “Smart Japan,” a leading online media in Japan focusing on renewable energy deployment and electric power market reformation. He has held senior positions at several technology information media and internet businesses, including “EE Times Japan” and “Nikkei Computer.” He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Information Engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology.
    At Renewable Energy Institute, he is a regular contributor to columns and case-studies that introduce renewable energy projects across Japan. In addition, he was responsible for the launch of the Renewable Energy Users Network (RE-Users), a network of corporate energy users which aims to accelerate renewable procurement in Japan, and the RE-Users Regional Alliance, an initiative aiming to disseminate renewables procurement practices across local regions in Japan.
